Julie King FA Mentee Programme

Julie King – FA Mentee Development Programme 2021 – 22

Our 1st Team Coach julie King has started a bespoke learning programme with the FA, the Mentee Development Programme began last week at St Georges Park as Julie joined 9 other coaches on the course.

Julie has brought some amazing insight to our sessions and we are delighted for Julie as she progresses her knowledge.

Mentee Development Programme

“Supported by The Chelsea Foundation, the Mentee Development Programme provides an opportunity for five female and five male coaches to gain invaluable experience and exposure to The FA’s Technical Department, as well as developmental experience with professional clubs.

The initiative is aligned to our wider coach inclusion and diversity programme, which is aimed at addressing the stubborn inequalities for coaches from Black, Asian, and mixed heritage backgrounds to develop and thrive in the game.

Each of our 10 coaches will receive a bespoke and agile learning programme tailored to their needs and ultimate goal of working in the professional game. They will also receive opportunities such as observing England national team development camps, study visits to professional clubs’ academies, season-long one-to-one mentoring, presentation and communication training, tactical and analysis workshops, and interview and CV masterclasses.” – Credit to the Boot Room website

Mossley Hill Dev Promotion 2021

Mossley Hill Dev Gain Promotion

The beginning of the 2020 / 2021 season saw a new team forming as Lisa Corkill stepped up to begin a long journey of taking on the challenging role of developing the youth players and preparing them for open age football. A new team and some raw young players who had never played 11 a-side before.
Early in the season there were just a handful of girls at the sessions, not enough for a decent five-a-side team!
As the weeks went by during the pre-season more girls came along and the core of Mossley girls were now being joined by more local players.
The early matches were steep learning curves and playing games with only 11 players in the squad was tough but a valuable experience for all concerned.
Being defeated in a match is an experience which is part of football, the value comes from how you deal with it and how you improve, early in the season the team struggled but it was clear lessons were being learned and hard work on the training pitch was being put in.
As the season progressed the results and performances improved and the team finished 3rd in the league and made the play offs.
The play off final was a fitting end to a long and COVID hit season as the team played really well and ended up with a 1 – 0 victory over Newton-le-Willows.
For many months training has seen in excess of 16 players attending and on several occasions there has been over 20 at the sessions.
Promotion wasn’t even a thought when the season started but what a way to finish, bring on 2021/22.

More New Partnerships with Mossley Hill Ladies FC

New for 2020 / 21 season we have agreed a couple of great new partnerships for the team and the club. Initially working with the Ladies 1st Team and then into the wider club which will include the rest of the girls section (where appropriate) and all the boys age groups including the open age.

First of all a very big welcome to Chris Rudyard who is MNCS Accredited & GHRQ. Chris will be providing us with Psychotherapy and has been one of the most interesting and eagerly anticipated services to have joined. The amount of time we spend on physical fitness compared to the mental side is staggering and we are addressing the balance with Chris.

Our second partnership is that of Niall Pickles who runs Pickle Sport Marketing and will be helping us with sponsorship. Niall has a really good background in marketing and will soon be promoting the club and letting everyone know how we are getting on.

We are really pleased to have you both on board and can’t wait to see what we can all do together.
